Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sanghatan (RGPRS) - Tamil Nadu

Strengthening Local Leadership
RGPRS Tamil Nadu is committed to identifying, nurturing and supporting honest and compassionate leaders at the grassroots level. We provide training to emerging leaders on political ethics, administrative systems, and public service to help them effectively tackle local problems and bring about major changes in society. By forming ward committees and encouraging community participation, we bridge the gap between the government and the people and ensure that every citizen’s voice is heard.

Why is local government important?
A strong local body is the backbone of a thriving democracy. We focus on educating people about the Panchayati Raj Act, the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments, Gram Sabha, Area Sabha and local budgets. These critical elements empower citizens to actively participate in decision-making processes and hold elected representatives accountable.
Our vision for Tamil Nadu
Inspired by the ideals of Rajiv Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi’s Gram Swaraj, our vision is to establish an administrative structure where transparency, participation and inclusiveness are the core values. We aim to create an environment for the effective use of local resources and for communities to work together in a harmonious and sustainable way.
